Multi-Counter

Two or three counters, one stock file

When one till stops being enough — a second man billing through the khaad season, a back counter for pesticides, a third at the gate — AgroPOS Multi-Counter puts them all on the same stock, the same khata and the same bill sequence, over your own shop network. No cloud, no monthly bill, and the licence never expires.

When one counter stops being enough

Peak season is the test. Urea arrives, the shop fills, and one man at one screen becomes the whole queue. Most dealers solve it by putting a second computer on the counter — and then discover the two do not know about each other.

Two separate copies of the software means two stock counts, two khatas and two sets of bill numbers. The bag sold at the second counter is still on the first counter's shelf. The farmer who paid at one till still owes money at the other. At day close, nothing adds up, and the only fix is to do the evening's reconciliation by hand.

AgroPOS Multi-Counter is the single-counter software with that problem solved: one set of records, several tills reading and writing it at the same time.

How it works in the shop

One PC is the main counter. It holds the data and stays on while the shop is open — usually the machine that was already the till. The other counters connect to it over your own network cable or router.

  • Every counter bills at the same time. A bag sold at counter two leaves the stock counter one can see, immediately. No syncing step, no waiting.
  • One customer khata. A farmer's udhaar is the same figure at every till. Recovery taken at one counter shows at all of them.
  • One bill-number sequence per counter. Each till bills on its own series — INV-C2-00001, INV-C3-00001 — so two counters never compete for the same number, and the bill says which till issued it.
  • The day book closes for the whole shop, not per counter, so the drawer count is one figure to check rather than three.
  • Each counter signs in as its own user, with its own role. A cashier at counter two has exactly the permissions you gave that role.
No internet between the counters

The network is your own — a cable to a switch, or the shop's router. Nothing goes through the cloud to reach the till beside you, and a dead internet line does not stop billing. Cloud backup still runs when a connection is there.

Backup runs from the main counter

Backup and restore are available on the main counter only. That is deliberate: one machine owns the records, so a restore cannot be started from two places at once and leave the shop with two versions of its own history. Every counter's billing is in that one backup.

What it costs

One-time, like the single-counter licence. No monthly bill, and it never expires.

  • Two counters — Rs 50,000, paid once.
  • Three counters — Rs 70,000, paid once.
  • Each counter after that — Rs 20,000, added to the licence you already hold.

For comparison, the single-counter licence is Rs 30,000. Cloud backup is free for the first year on either, then Rs 5,000 a year and optional — the software keeps working without it.

Already running AgroPOS on one counter?

Your shop moves across with you. Make a backup on the copy you use now, install Multi-Counter on the machine that will be the main counter, and restore that backup into it — products, stock, customer khata, bills, suppliers and day book all arrive intact. Then set up the other counters and point them at the main one.

The setup guide has the steps, in English and Urdu.

Stop billing on the old copy once you have moved

Both programs keep working and each keeps its own separate records. A bill made on the old one after the move will not appear on Multi-Counter, its stock will not come off, and nobody notices until the godown count does not match.

Everything the single-counter edition does

Multi-Counter is not a cut-down or a bolt-on. It is the same software with the counters added, so all of it is there: batch-wise stock with expiry and FEFO, the udhaar khata and recovery, parchoon selling by the kilo, bookings, wholesale billing at trade rates, wallets and bank accounts, the Agriculture Department registers, thermal and A4 invoices, reports and Excel export.

Questions

How many counters can I run?

Two or three on the standard plans, and more by adding counters at Rs 20,000 each to a licence you already own. There is no practical limit beyond what your shop network can carry.

Do the counters need the internet to talk to each other?

No. They talk over your own shop network — a cable to a switch, or your router. The internet is only used for cloud backup and for checking updates, and billing continues without either.

What happens if the main counter is switched off?

The other counters cannot bill while it is off, because it holds the data. Keep it on through shop hours. It is usually the counter that was already the till, so this is what most shops do anyway.

Can I add a counter later?

Yes. Buy an Extra Counter at Rs 20,000 and it is added to your existing licence — same key, same shop, one more till.

I already use AgroPOS on one PC. Do I lose my data?

No. Back up on your current copy and restore it into Multi-Counter on the main counter. Stock, khata, bills, suppliers and the day book all come across.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days, the complete software with nothing switched off. A Multi-Counter trial covers two computers so you can actually test a second till.
